Curtain Time

After six years in my house, I've finally found fabric for curtains! I haven't looked too diligently, mostly because all the fabric stores in Nashville are expensive. I wasn't expecting that... I grew up 20 minutes away from this fabric mecca with awesome prices, which I can still visit when I go to my parents' house... but that's only every two months or so. And the selection there is constantly changing, so you either find something perfect or nothing at all.

A few weeks ago, it was something perfect. Two somethings, in fact!

The top print will go in my living room and dining room, where I have cream-colored walls, a rug with brown and cream in it, a muttled tan sofa, a rustic wood table, and chocolate brown/black accent pieces. Perfect!

The houndstoothy print will go in my bedroom, where I have a chocolate bedspread, dark tan walls, and more wood and rod iron accents. I love this print because I'll be able to switch up the colors in that room and still coordinate with the curtains—the colors are neutral and flex.

The best part? I got both of these fabrics off the roll and for a fraction of the regular retail price! Oh, and my mom is a wonderful seamstress, so she'll be gifting me with sewing these puppies.

Last but not least, we're going to use the easy snap-together grommets and grommet tape we found in this handy DIY video. I love the look of grommet panel curtains—who knew it could be so easy to make them?

Can't wait to show you the finished product!
